Ulverstone Print E-mail

One of the larger towns in northwest Tasmania, Ulverstone is home to extensive parks and beaches. The beaches in the town offer safe swimming and fishing and are extremely popular with tourists and residents alike.

The parks of Ulverstone are especially unique. Each of the parks offers something distinctive. Children enjoy the ANZAC Park with the playground equipment and barbeque facilities. There is a waterslide and bird sanctuary at Fairway Park and Legion Park is known for its terrific coastal views. Shropshire Park has more of a memorial theme with a footpath inscribed with the history of the Royal Australian Navy. Tobruk Park, the Boer War Memorial, and Queens Gardens are in the city as well.

In addition to the parks within the city, natural beauty is found outside Ulverstone as well. Preston and Castra Falls are slightly to the south of the city, and Gunns Plains Cave is open for tours as well. Gunns Plains Cave is home to an underground river and gently lit with glowworms. Winterbrook Falls and Leven Canyon offer exciting outdoor adventure as well.
