Bridport is a quiet town of commercial fishermen throughout the year, but as the summer months approach, the town swells considerably. Bridport is an ideal summer vacation spot as it has safe swimming, modern conveniences, sea and river fishing as well as an overall festive atmosphere.  Its is located approximately 20km from Scottsdale .

Residents of Bridport rely partially on the trout farm, and scallop and lobster industries. Tourism contributes a great deal to the city economically, and Bridport makes efforts to meet the needs of travelers. Guest houses and vacation units have recently been built to accompany other lodging opportunities.

While not playing in the water while visiting Bridport, be sure to visit Bowood, a home hand built by a former convict carpenter and an American stonemason who deserted his own sailing ship. Unfortunately, the home isn’t open to the public, but you can admire the unusual design of the exterior. Waterhouse just down the dunes from Bridport is almost completely deserted, but still has Waterhouse Island complete with a light house.
